Another rock and roll bassist/singer gone. Died last night in Germany at 61 years old. All I can say is that "Vincebus Eruptum" is an awesomely heavy album and if you haven't heard it you should listen to it. RIP, Dickie.

RIP Dickie.

Got to see him a few years ago in DC, and I'm really regretting not going to see him a year ago instead of studying for a midterm.

Even at his age, he played and sang like a wild man.

A totally underrated and even maligned player. Dude was LOUD!

I saw the Cheer a year or two back and had the opportunity to meet Dickie and talk bass gear with him. He was using an old Traynor rig at that show, said he used SVTs for years but the Traynor was closer to his early Marshall stack sound. Very approachable dude.

I was in grade school when their first album came out, I remember drawing stacks of Marshells in my school books because of them.

One of my early influences bass wise and vocally. Loved Blue Cheer from the moment my drummer and I first heard them in 67. Rest in peace Dick.

The Godfather Of Loud

A true original. They don't make 'em like him anymore, and bleeding ears around the world are thankful.

Rock In Peace, Mr. Badass!
