Love his ballad work, such as the one you posted. I think my favorite is 'Mingus,' on JM's Mingus.

he truly was one of the greats, he completely changed how a lot of bassists looked at their own bass.

Wow it was 24 years ago today that he past on, but it was somewhere around Sept 9th or so that he was actually beat up really bad. What horrible way to go.

Later that year I decided to pick up playing bass.
