Died of kidney complications. Rest in peace, man. Played on so many great tunes. The Kinks are still one of my favorites.

That is sad. The Kinks were (are?) such a great band! And Pete Quaif deserves much more praise than he's got.

This sucks

Love The Kinks so much, this guy had that great plucked style.

R.I.P Peter Quaife, see you in Heaven.

That is so weird... I just had 'Last Of The Steam-Powered Trains' going through my head when I found this thread. It's a sign man...

That's quite a shock, I've been on a bit of a Kinks trip of late and have really come to appreciate Pete's playing. I was also holding out for a Kinks reunion, as Pete and Mick Avory appeared together at an awards ceremony a couple of years back and all seemed for it, they both looked so well.

I'm off to spin Village Green Preservation Society and Something Else.

RIP Pete.

The Kinks. Its hard to think of a cooler band from that era. Just brilliant. Everything rock and roll should be.

RIP Pete. Your not underrated around here.

Although this is a bit late i have to say my farewell to Pete.... Yeah Pete a fantastic bassist. He was the guy who inspired me to pick up a bass. It is sad that very few people knew how good he was my favorite albums something else and village green R.I.Pwe won't forget. Rock on
