Yep - it's a Ritter. He switches basses rather frequently, though. Let's see if I can run down the partial list in (fairly) chronological order over the years:

Pedulla
Mark Johnson Philo Bass
Musicman Stingray (Pre-EB)
Taylor Acoustic Bass
Musicman SR5 (along with the aforementioned pre-EB)
Modulus Flea Bass
Ibanez SRX705 (when he started endorsing Ibanez)
Ibanez RD900
Ritter
Ibanez ATK
NS EUB

He has a bunch more as well, but those are the main ones he's gigged with.

Note that he still goes back to his old Pedulla and his old Stingray. He seems to like to change up his tone (amp-wise, he's used Eden, Mesa, Aguilar, and he now endorses Epifani) and style (he doesn's slap as much these days).

WAY more info than you asked for, but what the hell.

rob derhak is the man! i just saw my 36th & 37th moe. shows (in amsterdam no less ) and they blow me away every time.

btw planet boulder - i think he used a rickenbacker for most of "the conch," but has played one or two of the basses you listed above about every time i've seen them.

if anyone wants to check out some free moe. just go to www.archive.org. plenty of free stuff on that site. just pick something with good sound quality and you won't be dissappointed. they are all great musicians.

I dig Rob, I beileve he's a fellow Mainer! He's got some decent tone and some nice lines. Tat Ritter isn't bad looking, either

I'm seeing moe. on New Years Eve this year at Radio City Music Hall! Anyone else?

Nice! I'm going New Years with my Father, Uncle, cousin and a few other family/friends, and all the tickets are side-by-side, so I won't have a problem being with the people I care to. Unfortunately I know I won't be able to go up front in front of the stage

Oh well, all I care for are the tunes. As long as they play 'Okay Alright' I'll be happy

New moe. studio CD due in January. The first time they've ever done a CD of entirely new songs without having performed them live first (i.e., everything written in the studio).

I've read that they are looking to go back to their more "rootsy" sound. Doesn't matter to me - I like their old and new stuff.

anyone have any info on Mark Johnson Philo Bass (nothing in a google search)?
i know that rob played a bass built by the same guy who did a bass for yolk's bass player (another upstate ny band that came up with moe. in the 90's). i believe that guy's shop was in buffalo, ny. this is from the same time as the pedulla. is this the Mark Johnson Philo Bass?
