I saw Tower of Power at Humpreys last night - I've been attending concerts since 1969 and this band gets tighter every year!

Rocco was playing through a TC Electronic head and cabs - don't know if it was locally provided backline or he brought it with him. During sound check he sounded good, but looked tired. During the gig, despite the fact that he played his @$$ off, he looked fatigued, seldom smiling, and leaning on a stool between songs. He was wearing an eye patch over his right eye during the gig, but not during sound check - perhaps it has to do with the on-stage lighting.

We witnessed "Iron Mike" Bogart's reenlistment ceremony, which took place on stage toward the end of the gig. He's going back in the USN, and Mic Gillette has rejoined the band.

They played a few covers from their new "Great American Soul Book" CD, which came off much better live than on the CD.

Good concert!
