Sometimes companies make promises they don't keep. And any smart artist just moves on. |

I think Rocco was using the Classic while they tweaked it and developed the Staccato.
As for going through endorsements, it someone makes something you like that sounds better than what you have, why not?

I got to spend some time with Rocco before the show.
These guys are SO FREAKING TIGHT!
TCE users... here are his settings that night.
He had his eyes closed for most of the set! Rocco has changed his playing somewhat over the years. He's playing more melodic lines and moving around the neck more too. I wonder if the Conklin has influenced this? What a great player!

How about some ROCCO Love? | What is flat out cool about the pic is, it's a smaller club, and he's using this MASSIVE rig!

I hadn't heard TC Electronics gear before, and his tone was MASSIVE too. A lot cleaner and punchier that with the Eden or Ampegs that he had played through.

Forum Administrator | | Join Date: Mar 2000 Location: atlanta ga | | | that bass is actually the prototype of the groove tools rocco sig model (or one of them - bill might have built him more over the past few years). if it is the same one, i didn't know he got it repainted - that black sparkle is hot, similar to the color of the conklin 15th anniversary models.

The Staccato is fine, but the Classic is covered, seems odd to me. |

The Staccato is fine, but the Classic is covered, seems odd to me. | I'm guessing, but I figure it could be two reasons: First, Rocco is endorsing the Staccato '51 and he and TC may not want to confuse the issue by having more than one model onstage. The other idea I have is that while Rocco was working with TC to develop the Staccato '51, TC may not have wanted anyone to know what was up. The Staccato is based on suggestions about EQing and other input from Rocco. Of course anyone in the industry would know the Classic on sight, so that theory may be off the mark.

I'm more surprised he doesn't have 2 Staccato '51s.

I do not believe that Rocco would accept a rh450 even as a backup, knowing how much They changed in the 450 voicing to get to the s51... But if its the prototype it All makes sence. Retired as a backup and the tape covering that it is no longer a RH450 |

I guess he's just looking for that one rig that says "this is the one" just like his bass.
