For anyone who might be interested: Watersish.com
The first and perhaps the only internet resource site dedicated to Roger Waters gear. Or more likely a poor man's answer to Gilmourish.com... ;-)

What's wrong with linking to my site?

The RotoSound website says nothing about him using the Swing 66, and live it sounds like he's still using the Jazz 77s. Nothing about the Pete Cornish custom pedalboard either. Nice info on his amps though.

Ozzy, I think you put way more thought into Roger's gear than Roger himself

I believe Roger plays roundwounds since 2000. His guitar tech Colin Lyon had mentioned that once.

As for Peter Cornish pedalboard - I am still waiting for an approval to use the images from his website.

Cheers

BTW Does anyone have any idea what chorus - if any - Roger uses?

What chorus he used or currently uses? Keep in mind he did use chorus on The Wall. So perhaps start with what was available then, that should narrow your choices considerably.

But since I'm a Boss fanboy and there's absolutely no evidence of him ever using it, I'll say the Boss CE-1.

But on a more realistic note, it's probably something from MXR or Electro Harmonix since he used those brands for other pedals.

Nice info on his amps! Very nice!

Generally, when people sign up, don't post, but start a thread with a link in it, it's spam.

It looks like this wasn't the case though.

I couldn't find anyone actually talking about him using rounds, and he's on the RotoSound website as an endorser/endorsee/user of the 77 flats.

However, I've been listening to his recent (2000-present) recordings, the In the Flesh album (recorded June 2000), videos of The Wall tour off youtube (2010-2011), bootlegs of the Dark Side of the Moon tour (2006-2008), and I think you might be right about the RotoSound rounds. His sound is alot more brighter, punchy and round sounding (just like the Swing 66's, as opposed to the 77 flats) compared to older stuff.

A good example of the "Round" sound is "The Happiest Days of our Lives", especially the intro. I tried it myself a few times (I have one bass with the Swing 66s, one with the Jazz 77s) and the one with the rounds sounds alot closer to his present sound, although I don't have a P or Ashdown/Ampeg amps.

Unfortunately, I can't remember where I heard that from. If I can come up with a source, I'll post more details.
Anyways, I like the sound of the Jazz77s better. Especially on a P-bass.
