You will NOT be dissapointed. It is a tremendous show. I might be biased because I live and breathe roger waters, but even my brother, who doesn't like pink floyd that much said it was one of the most elaborate and well produced shows that he's seen. It won't keep you bored. Go.

I'm a total Floyd nut, but I was disappointed.

It was an alright show, but his bass playing and voice were average. He's got some awesome players with him though. I saw Clapton play the following night and that put his show to shame!

I much preferred Pink Floyd (minus Waters) doing the whole Dark Side album on their Pulse tour. Check that out on DVD. It's a shame Roger had to copy them and do Dark Side as well, because otherwise I would still have him up on the legend/god pedestal after he did The Wall - now that was an incredible show.

in a word, YES. in 3 words YES YES YES!! his band his topnotch, they sound incredible, and the visuals are amazing. sure, his voice is a little shot by now but so what. he never had an amazing voice, that was left to gilmour. his bass playing may be average, but again, it always was. he's first and foremost a songwriter and visionary. if you go to the show you most certaintly will not be disappointed.

As far as I know Guy Pratt never played bass with Waters, he played with post-Waters Floyd and now with David Gilmour on his solo career. He's nasty as hell, one of my favorite bassists for versatility and technique.

I have never seen his solo show, only when he was with Floyd. I am a huge Floyd fan myself and thinl Roger Waters was an amazing songwriter.

That being said the drummer in my band (also a huge Floyd fan) went to see him in the SF Bay Area at the Shoreline Amphitheater and was so disappointed he left halfway through the show. That's about 6 hours on the road for about 45 minutes of a show. I don't know what he was expecting to see there, but its clear it was a profound disappointment...

According to various YouTube evidence, he is allegedly lip synching alot of the lead vocal parts, so I think I'd rather stay at home and listen to Floyd doing it as it was intended.

Saw him at the Shoreline about 7 years ago. It was a nice show at a less than stellar venue IMO. I was very much "comfortably numb" for the whole show so my critical perspective may have been a bit off. I also love Pink Floyd and don't really expect to have a sort of magical experience comparable to the early days. Lucky to see any of their members in any form considering the passage of time. Go enjoy it.

Apparently he's lipsynching a lot on tour. I saw him last year and he played 90%+ Floyd stuff including some songs I love from "The Final Cut" (but no "Gunner's Dream" unfortunately). He also played "Set the Controls for the Heart Of the Sun" - the same godawful melody repeated over and over for 10 minutes. I would have rather heard a good song like Dogs, but I'm sure the hardcore fans were happy.

I got the tickets for free, I probably wouldn't have bought tickets. It was a great show for free, I enjoyed it. The band is great, has a lot of respect for the material.

dr eagle, that's too bad your friend didn't dig the show. i was blown away. thought it was amazing.

the whole lip-synching issue is debatable. as a matter of fact we did debate this on a thread that was out around the time of his last bay area show. i don't believe he was lip synching.
