Trace Elliot v8 fans paging Demon666. Do the CL400 run 8 KT88s? | Yeah I have a V8 that runs 8xKT88's (even though I usually just run it at half power)
4xKT88's is where it's at kids |

My guitar player tells me it's not that good for bass, but I wanna check it out for myself. Got any clips? |

Put it this way they don't have too many fans or followers here. |

The cats looked at me strangely.

What should I be telling the sound guy in the future? I told him that I worked hard putting together my sound and I want it to be captured by mic instead of DI. Any of you guys have pushback?

If a sound guy is insistent that I need I DI, ill explain than I run distortion on 100% of the time and I can't be DI'd otherwise everything will sound like bees in a trash can. |

Of course, his only pedal was a tuner. HA. HAHAHA.
Bees in a trash can huh? Fuzz always on, sounds that way when DI'ed? I don't want some slick FOH terminology to be used on me here. I also don't want to be the jerkoff confrontational bass player either.

Any of you guys have pushback? | Continually, that's why I switched to fearful but it hasn't been entirely successful. I haven't come back around to "my sound" that I had prior to The Great Gear Upheaval of 2012. Still looking for the right preamp, dirt, and compression. You know like nearly everything. Frustrating when gear budget comes from selling gear. |

Spending 5 minutes explaining to the sound guy you never run a clean tone usually helps too.
