I've been thinking long and hard about a dirt box that can be run direct. I think that'll be my next project.

On work clothes: I have a "uniform" of khaki cargo pants, blue Dickies work shirt and a super sweet plain khaki baseball hat that I wear 5 days a week. I couldn`t feel any more hip.

On the new Bass vi from Fender: I want it to be everything everyone hopes it to be,but I`m not sure how it`s going to hold up.Some Swedish dudes had a chance to play one and said the 5 position slider felt cheap(not sure why Fender didn`t go with the individual on/off switches) and something about the bridge being less than stellar.

I`ve been wanting a bass vi for awhile, but if the Fender isn`t the right price people(including me) will just opt for the Hellcat vi or the eastwood sidejack.

So that is really it? Fuzz sounds like **** through the PA? Let it be noted, he wanted to DI out of the back of the amp. Would it still make the same awful bees in a trash can noise?

Yeah I've decided once I'm done paying the Ric off, Im picking up this

http://www.rondomusic.com/harm1fgashtoastextended.html

I think a Bass VI type will be pretty cool in a three piece, since the bass takes on more rhythm guitar responsibilities. Plus it will match my Ric and will sound like a Ric guitar. Win-Win.

My drummer's old band had guitar through some pedal and it came out to a bass amp and guitar amp. Holy balls it sounded awesome. Two guitars and a drummer. Instrumental shoegaze type stuff. Really cool if you like russian circles and the whole scene.

Yes. There's a reason "cab-sim" is such a buzz word.

So, I tell him,
A) I run fuzz all the time
B) My DI is broken -and-
C) I don't have a cab sim

and of course Ron's
D) **** sounds like bees in trash can, dude.

My guitarist does the same thing but he wired his guitar where each pickup goes to an amp. Hes using my old SS Peavey, sounds furocious. And a Crate Powerblock, he has a Twin Reverb head on layaway to replace the Crate, but its been on layaway since September, his cars just keep breaking down so he has to fix them instead of paying for the head.

If you run baritone, I would recommend you running guitar and bass rigs together.

I liked the lastest jam by the way.

Atleast I feel a little more comfortable as to why I need a mic. Do you guys bring your own mics then?

looks like my band Stone the Crows, after some songwriting and practice will be doing releases on a few formats:

- C90 cassette, 45 mins "studio", 45 minutes live show
- lathe cut split 7" with another band
- free versions on bandcamp

excited, even if our choice of formats are a bit hipster. show on saturday too, then feb 9th and 16th. woo!

down the line once we have some proper recordings done, i'll pass them around and if anyone wants to do the split 7" with us give me a yell. lathe cut records start at $8NZD a pop, more for coloured decals etc.

Unfortuntely not. I'm slacking hard. I was supposed to do a Rat Tail/Iron Pig comparison a month or two ago.

It's ridiculous to say the least.

This is why I run big amps into a fEARful 1515/66. The tone or lack there of the cab imparts is very similar to that of the PA. So when my tone is right through my cab, its right through the PA. Granted my cab can carry most venues, and I have had sound guys tell me to turn up, but when that isnt the case the cab acts like an amazing monitor.
