Too true. I hated the operatic, over-the-top vocal style. Then one night, it just kinda clicked.

Epicus Doomicus Metallicus is a beast of an album

Dude. The Hartke Bass Attack gets a lot of love. I just happen to have one sitting around if you're interested...

I'm considering calling this place and offering up my acrylic drum shell pack for this. Straight trade. Figured I'd try to get a second opinion.

That's way too much for a v4. I paid $650 and that was a bit high.

Well, I figure my drums are worth $700-800. I've seen them go for $1,000, though. Figure it's a fair trade. I'm gonna give 'em a call and see what's up.

They have an SVT Classic, too. It's $400 more, though...maybe I'll go for that one first.

Hey trades are all about both parties being happy regardless of value, if you feel its fair go for it they're sweet heads!

That's still my favorite album from them. I know Messiah is the vocalist most associated with them, but the first album is still the best to me.

Well, the place that has it is a store, so I'm sure there's a bit of a markup. It's in a pretty hipster part of town, too...so there's that.

That's what I sold mine for recently. There's no shortage of them on the used market, they're everywhere. No reason to pay over $1000 for one ever IMO.

At least it's a white rocker v4 should be pretty solid. Older ones are prone to crap out.

Yeah both items you listed are pretty much exactly 400$ above going rates, so you should demand 400$ above trade value for your durms.

with the right cab(s) it would be loud enough. I had no problems with my YBA-3. you won't get loud and clean or super low but for a nice grindy tube sound 100-150 watts is the sweet spot in my opinion. but as others have said, way too overpriced.

V4s sound nice but boy do they have gremlins. I have long considered making a Dunwich clone model but I doubt people would want to pay 1500+ dollars for a used amp that can be bought for 300.

Those SVT CL's are awesome heads, I think. I always dug 'em, but now having one right at my ear at all of our shows, I can really feel the power. In my head, it's just how a bass should sound. ha! Although, our bassist found his for $850 on Craigslist.

PS, I hate trying to use this thread for my benefit, especially this being my second post (so if this is uncool, I can get rid of it), but does anyone in here book shows/know of someone who does in Pittsburgh, PA; Washington, DC; Baltimore, MD; Savannah or Atlanta, GA; Tallahassee or Jacksonville, FL; Memphis or Nashville, TN? We're looking to do some dates on the road, and I'm needing some contacts.

If soundguys insist on DI i use my JDI and take the signal from the speaker output of the amp and i ask the sound guy to cut the highs above 4k. that helps get rid of the bees. if we are the headlining band then i dont feel bad and insist on a mic. i bring my own and its the first thing i set up. they get the hint and most will accomodate. however be careful if the slap a kick drum mic on there you may want to go the DI route with a LPF. An SM57 isnt bad but you do lose some of the beef. i think investing in a good DI and mic are just as important as the rest of your gear and always bring my own.
So... could anyone say which mic in maybe 100 range, 200 range, and maybe any other notables?

I really do miss my SVT-CL. Only amp I really regret selling.

And yes! Totally cool man, don't worry about it. This thread is all about helping each other, finding new music, and supporting the scene.

I live in Pittsburgh. Haven't got a chance to check your stuff out, but you'd likely be a good fit to play with my band. I also know a fantastic promoter I can put you in contact with. I'll PM you his info.
