Epicus Doomicus Metallicus is a beast of an album | That's still my favorite album from them. I know Messiah is the vocalist most associated with them, but the first album is still the best to me.

| | Registered User | | Join Date: Jul 2010 Location: WV | | | Those SVT CL's are awesome heads, I think. I always dug 'em, but now having one right at my ear at all of our shows, I can really feel the power. In my head, it's just how a bass should sound. ha! Although, our bassist found his for $850 on Craigslist.
PS, I hate trying to use this thread for my benefit, especially this being my second post (so if this is uncool, I can get rid of it), but does anyone in here book shows/know of someone who does in Pittsburgh, PA; Washington, DC; Baltimore, MD; Savannah or Atlanta, GA; Tallahassee or Jacksonville, FL; Memphis or Nashville, TN? We're looking to do some dates on the road, and I'm needing some contacts. |

If soundguys insist on DI i use my JDI and take the signal from the speaker output of the amp and i ask the sound guy to cut the highs above 4k. that helps get rid of the bees. if we are the headlining band then i dont feel bad and insist on a mic. i bring my own and its the first thing i set up. they get the hint and most will accomodate. however be careful if the slap a kick drum mic on there you may want to go the DI route with a LPF. An SM57 isnt bad but you do lose some of the beef. i think investing in a good DI and mic are just as important as the rest of your gear and always bring my own. | So... could anyone say which mic in maybe 100 range, 200 range, and maybe any other notables?

And yes! Totally cool man, don't worry about it. This thread is all about helping each other, finding new music, and supporting the scene.
I live in Pittsburgh. Haven't got a chance to check your stuff out, but you'd likely be a good fit to play with my band. I also know a fantastic promoter I can put you in contact with. I'll PM you his info. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
