The bass had all the characteristics of a Gretsch- the distinctive Gretsch tailpiece and headstock, and it looked like what Stephen Stills and Neil Young used in Buffalo Springfield.

Plus, I think they've consisted of the same members ever since their inception so he's not really a hired gun who can be quietly let go.

Good to know he's still there!
