Does anyone know who played bass on santana's caravanserai?
Or what he/she was playing?
Awesome tone and incredibly funky and groovy. My favorite santana by far.

Do you mean the electric bass playing or the Double Bass on tracks like Stone Flower and La Fuente Del Ritmo etc. ?

Certainly not!!

Doug Rauch played BG and Tom Rutley played Double Bass on a lot of tracks. In fact all my favourite tracks from that album have Acoustic Double Bass..

The 1st and last 3.

That was a 1972 album - I expect Benny was still at school then!

Only about 30 years out!!
