WOW...what a performance. Pat Metheney was amazing as usual.Antonio Sanchez blew my mind on the drums,he's just a very special player. But it was Christian's playing that grabbed me the most, his solo's were unbelievable. I didn't know he played electric,on the last song he takes out this beautiful custom black 4-string maple necked fretless and tore it up. I left that concert so High(on the music only) I could not sleep for hours.

I don't remember who the bassist was when I saw Pat a few years ago. All I remember was that Antonio Sanchez had the single greatest live drumming performance I've ever seen.

Antonio Sanchez was supposed to put on a concert here at school. But, he was stuck in New York.
he made it for a gig that night. I wish I could have made it out...

Anyway, Christian McBride is one hell of a solid player. He plays a Black Pensa with fretless Maple Fingerboard.

They're a scary band.

I was at that show also. Simply incredible. They were incredibly tight, like they were reading each others minds. All the solos were very tasteful and musical, not just speed and technique for their own sake. Even though these are three of the best musicians in the world, you could tell they were having fun up there, pushing each other and playing for the pure joy of it. Antonio Sanchez is truly a monster drummer. Pat Metheny summed it best when he said he was the drummer he thought would never be born.
Look for a CD from these guys in January.
