Had a wonderful evening seeing Jeff Berlin , in Schenectady, NY last night. It was a small venue, so was very intimate, and reminded me why I have followed this man's career since 1979, when I saw him with Bruford, here in Albany, NY. ( he had a couple of tunes from back then I still listed to, The Sahara Of Snow, as well as Joe Frasier).
He was accompanied by Scott Henderson, an excellent guitar player, as well as Mike Clark on drums. I was very impressed with Mr Clark, as he used only a 4 piece kit, but got some monster sounds out of it.
The boys were also funny as hell between songs, and made for an enjoyable evening.

Jeff seems to have a great sense of humor that comes across onstage. Always a blast to see him perform.

Dang! I had planned to catch their show @ Iridium in NYC a week ago Friday, on September 16. Had to go out of town on short notice, due to a family emergency.

Good to know they delivered the goods though. I'll just have to keep my eye on them, so I can catch them on their next swing through New York!

I first saw Jeff Berlin perform, roughly the same period, at Hatfield College here in the UK. I was right in front of him and reached up to shake his hand at the end of the gig.

None of his talent rubbed off onto me.

I didn't know he was playing with Henderson (who I know from way back we we both lived in Toledo) - I would dearly love to see that group.

Hope they come around these parts.

Jeff Berlin is definately an accomplished bass player.

One of the best shows I ever saw was Jeff Berlin with Allan Holdsworth. The backup band was The Steve Morse Band. You can't get better than that !!!

Is this the same Mike Clark who played on Herbie Hancock's Thrust album? What a badass drummer! Would love to hear him & Berlin together.

yes, it was the Bruford tour: I remember Bruford coming on stage wearing his Boston Bruins shirt with the large "B" in the middle
That was my favorite period of progressive: I was playing for about 4 or 5 years, and then I got into Crimson, U.K., Bruford. Holdsworth still amazes me. Eddie Jobson, Wetton.
