My first time seeing the band. Can wait to see them again. A great show. Rocco and David Garibaldi just killed all night. I don't know how Rocco keep pumping out those 16th notes. We have similar economy of the right hand but he just keeps going.

Yeh, our manager got a ticket at the last minute, he was stoked...our GM has a band and some of his horn players know some of the guys in TOP, so there was a possibility of some kind of a jam...I was trying to think of an excuse to drop by their rehearsal spot last night, but then my engineer dropped by unnannounced to talk over a project...wretch...I dunno if they showed or not, I should find out tomorrow...

They are still in town tonight at the Oakville Centre. Not sure if you can get tickets. A bunch of us met and ate dinner across the street. TOP was hanging out in the same place. Kind of cool to walk in and see Rocco sitting at a table.

Rocco's the MAN. Glad you liked the show. I wish they would come to Wisconsin. It's been a while since they were through here.

I can't wait!!

I'm off to tonight's show with my guitar playing buddy and our better halves (this was a Christmas present from my lady). Like most of us old guys, I've been a huge fan of Rocco and TOP since I first heard their recordings in the early 70's. Now I get to see and hear them up close!

My buddy has seen them before in T.O., I can't believe they are playing 2 nights in little old Oakville!!

They have a few good one liners about Oakville. I wont mention them in case they use them again.

What a great show! The whole band cooked, even Mike Fitzgerald (sitting in on keys for the last month) was dynamite. Larry Braggs was OUTSTANDING on vocals, and a good showman as well.

DG and Rocco kept everything pumping, Emilio and the horns were really right on and balanced well. (Rocco looked even smaller than usual behind that honkin' body of his new Conklin signature model!)

The most polished act I've ever seen up close and live in a smaller venue (455 seats). Still my heroes, after 37 years....

So TOP said they liked coming to Oakville because it sounds like Oakland but different. Someone yells from the band "no ghetto". Funny stuff. The last thing Oakville has is a ghetto.

They are back in Ontario in July at Casinorama . . . with . . . wait for it . . . Tom Jones! I would think What's New Pussy Cat would the funkiest version ever. Might be worth the trip. Not that I'm a Tom Jones fan or anything.

The TOP lead trumpet player 'Iron Mike Bogart' was stationed in the Navy Band with me for a few years when we were both enlisted. Great guy and great player, I've probably done hundreds of gigs with him in all sorts of settings. Glad to see all his success, if anyone talks to him at a show tell him 'Andy from Guam' says hello!

I haven't seen them with him in the band yet, but TOP did do a show on Guam probably ten years ago that was smokin. Got to meet and get some pics with Rocco, I was definitely starstruck in his presence. It's incredible that those guys have been together so long and still sound so great.

Mike was very impressive, switching between trumpet, fluegelhorn and valve trombone all in the same tune!! Glad to hear that a "good guy" has had big success.
