I got tto see Victor Wooten do a clinic at a local store today.
He's playing with Stanley Clark tonight at a loacl casino and I did'nt even know about it.
He was on for almost 2 hours. and the place was packed.
He only played about 3 tunes. He answered a lot of questions.
He did.nt really take alot of technique questions.
He really seemed set on sending everyone home a little smarter then when they walked in.
He talked alot about practicing, the importance of charecter, professionalism, etc.
Even though had said he and the drummer(Derico)had to get to soundcheck, he stuck around for autographs and pictures.
He was really cool.
I had him sign my copy of Soul Circus. He kinda chuckled and said he really liked that cd, and wished he owned it. He said he does not make a dime on it

Sorry for the bad cell phone pics

Victor is one of the nicest human beings I've ever met, and obviously a phenomenal player. He's also IMO a great teacher.

True that! I met him few years ago. Boy, what a great clinic.

Hi Gecko 5

Was that the clinic at Cascio Interstate Music?? I really wanted to go to that. I actually drove to Cascio I.M. (3 1/2 hours one way) on Saturday to drop off my Mesa Titan that has been acting up the day after the clinic. I just couldn't swing getting down there on Friday because I work third shift and I wouldn't have gotten any sleep. Glad that you got to go and had a good time.

Yes, it was at Cascio. I've never seen that place so crowded.
They obviously did NO business that afternoon.
I arrived 5 minutes late. I stood for 2 1/2 hours.
My legs STILL hurt.
It was cool. We never get clinics here. And in the last two months we get Billy Sheehan and Victor.
I wish he would have played more.
He could not have been any cooler. He took time to meet everyone in line. I sure wish I would have known about the show that night. I had my son that night, but would have made other plans had I known
Big thanks to Hartke for two great clinics!!!
