Hey all,

I've been a Jaco fan for quite a few years now but as I'm primarily into bebop, post bop etc, I never delved too far into modern fretless bass players. Could anyone throw me a few names? Doesn't have to be fusion, but hopefully within some tier of the jazz idiom. I just got my Fender Jazz back yesterday after a de fretting job being done on it. I figured I should open my ears a little. Thanks a million.

Jeroen Paul Thesseling is my favorite fretless player right now.
He plays all kinds of stuff, jazz, flamenco, world music, and metal.

His Obscura stuff is death metal mixed with all types of other stuff. And the ensemble is a mixture of jazz, flamenco, and world music.
