i live in tacoma..but i have spent every day (8hrs minimum) working or at school in Seattle for the last eight years. That, and I'm finally moving there next month. Enough with the commuting.

Way better than one starting up here in Lynden. Hey, if you guys ever have a get-together, please let me know, as it's only a 100 mile drive to downtown Seattle from here.

I don't know about that...
Lynden: Population-9,020 Size-4.1 sq mi
Granite Falls: Pop-2,347 Size-1.7 sq mi

You may almost be Canucks, but we're up here in the sticks. I bet there's all of 5 people who know how to play a stringed instrument in our town.

I like your idea though, a Seattle Bass Hoe-Down

Mukilteo area here....

What's the restaraunt in Lynden where you can get a great breakfast? Sort of an old fashioned look on the inside, decent sized place, and the waitresses wear long dresses...

I really like the Black Forrest steak and schnitzel place in Everson.

RobJ, that would be The Dutch Mothers restaurant, a local establishment/institution. And here's a tip you might already be aware of, but if you're going to eat at the Black Forrest, sit in the bar area instead of the main seated room- the food is the same but less expensive and sometimes faster. Good stuff there, for sure.

And llamalor2112, you might be right about the numbers- we probably do have more pickers here. Just not the kind of folks I want to play with, so I'm guessing it probably feels like living in Granite Falls. As I like to say when people ask, I live in Lynden but I'm not from here...

...Seattle Bass Hoe-Down, I like it- hopefully, we can make it happen some day? Since it appears that I qualify under the new club terms, count me in!

Live on the Eastside, but gig in Seattle, too, at Tula's Jazz Club. Been around here for about 22 years. I guess I qualify. Gimme a number.
