What's a bassist doing here looking for another bass player?
Well, in addition to playing bass, I'm also a singer and keyboardist, which I do in my main band.
Looking for a soul/R&B/funk bassist in the Los Angeles area, my band has a monthly paid restaurant gig starting in Mid-August near Downtown Los Angeles so we need someone soon. We also have occasional outdoor gigs that are unpaid so you should be cool with that too. The band plays 60% originals and 40% covers. Our bass player had to quit cos he has way too many commitments and had to pare down.
The band's sound is influenced by Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind and Fire, Isley Bros, Prince, early Luther, Maxwell, Musiq Soulchild, N.E.R.D. and Raphael Saadiq/Tony Toni Tone.
Must be influenced by Jamerson, Miller, etc. 5-string players and those who can also play some tunes on synth bass will be considered over all others.
