What do you guys think of Napalm Death's Shane Embury (also bassist for Brujeria and Lock Up amongst many other bands)?

I always thought that he just followis the guitar, with the odd slide, in most songs, but I've noticed he's mostly playing along with the drums on Napalm Death's latest album, Time Waits For No Slave, even keeping up with all those blastbeats.

I've never been a huge fan of Napalm Death, but they were in the Studio before us when we recorded our album. A couple of little trivia nuggets about the good Mr Embury:

He doesn't use amps at all, recording or live. Just straight through a Sansamp bass driver. (Also, The singer Barney uses very little vocal in his monitors, so he has to push his voice to it's extreme to be heard.)

Actually that's just one isn't it.

Ooooo very interesting stuff

How much in the way of effects those Barney use on his voice in the studio? His voice sounds very unnatural on their newer records
