HI
Hey everyone. Dont know if any other TBers saw the same great show I saw the other nite in NYC at BB Kings. It was a project called Amazing Journey. It was a Who Tribute done by Billy Sheehan, Paul Gilbert, Gary Cherone, and Mike Portnoy. 2.5 hours of classic Who with a bunch of style thrown in by all 4 of these guys!!! Real cool stuff. I'm not a big Who fan but I left with a new appreciation. They did the whole Tommy record and all the best hits.
Billy was amazing. He not only hasnt lost any chops but I think he's better than ever!! I've been going to see him since the early 80's with Talas, DLR, Mr. Big, and so on. He is still awesome. Great growly tone, awesome harmonics, and a great showman. He is faster than ever but has so much style to boot. WOW
He and Gilbert played a couple cheapie guitars last song and proceeded to smash them to end the show. Very Who like. It as a blast. Thanx for reading my post
