I'm a giant compared to some of you guys (15 years old, almost 6'3'' ) but i know a guy who can beat just about anyone when it comes to hight (or lack of), an actual Little Person! He's a guitar player but plays bass for a local indoor drumline/percussion group. He dosn't look like he's taller than about 4'2'' and plays a hofner (makes sense, really )

I'm 5'-3" and 50, so I'm probably beginning to shrink. My 35-inch scale basses are my favorites due to their feel. I grew up (or older) playing piano so I've been accustomed to stretching my fingers.

Actually, nineties Peaveys(Foundations, Fury's, Dyna-Basses) are very light and have a downsized body. They would look fine.

By the way, I'm 6'2", but my original bass mentor was 5'6". He played a jazz with precision neck. Never felt size had anything to do with talent.

Thumbs down Thank you

I was hoping there was such a club around. I notice the majority of shorter bassists are young'uns, but I'm glad to see a few in my age group as well. I'm 5'1", 43 and a beginner, looking for my first bass. Any suggestions would be welcome. So far I've been looking at Ibanez and Squier basses for the smaller bodies and narrower necks.

5'3. 18 years of age. Play a Squier 5 string jazz. No real trouble but i do wish my hands were bigger.

Count me in at 5'6. KeyFox, I started on the Ibanez SR505 fiver (SR500 is the four string) and found it really easy to play. Thin neck, light body.

But try a lot of basses and get the one that feels right for you. I ended up getting a P-Bass and love it.
