Stumbled onto Temple of Groove from Australia. Kickin' female bass player - nice tone and style. Who is she? Enjoy and talk amongst yourselves;

I didn't know bass playing was a competitive sport among females.

Haven't you guys been paying attention to the Grammy's and other in the know music people? Talent, groove, musicianship, etc. has nothing to do with your success. It's the package, looks, etc.

I can play all that TOP stuff and I have no delusions of fame. I am way to old, way to fat, and love my family way too much.

Assuming Tal is really spending time thinking actively about equality in music instead of just working really hard to get better, she ought to be thrilled to see that woman playing with Temple of Groove. TOG's bassist was clearly hired because she could handle the gig, not because they thought she was a "hottie."

For any female musician, simply being accepted as a player should be a priority because no one stays young and fine forever.

I think she's probably just concerned about what she's doing next.

Worried about what? Her tax situation? Global warming? Tendonitis? The heartbreak of psoriasis?

It's music. Some people sell more records and/or tickets than others, but if you're making a living playing music that you love and people are hearing your music, you've won. That's regardless of what others are doing. Someone doesn't have to loose in order for you to win this game.

Somehow, I have a clean conscience because I didn't start this one....
Totally OT, but I'm preparing to show UZEB's final concert DVD to my Electric Bass Majors at their seminar class. That should change some perspectives....

I don't know who she is, but she sounds great, she looks like she's having fun, and she has impeccable taste in basses...
