Show us your autographs of bassists...

I searched to find a thread that covered this but most were either asking how or how much. This thread was about auto'd basses and there were some that listed but didn't show autographs.

I collect auto's of bassists I like on either LP's or CD's (depending on when they recorded), occasionally I will get an auto'd pic but I have 'upgraded' most of those when I had the opportunity.

Here are the ones I have displayed in my music room. I got all of them personally except for Sting which I got from a friend who got it personally.

Jaco Pastorius

John Entwistle

Sting

Chuck Rainey

Verdine White

Tony Levin

Leland Sklar

Jack Bruce

Bootsy Collins

Kenny Gradney

Jimmy Johnson

Victor Wooten

Victor Bailey

Rocco Prestia

Marcus Miller

Gerald Veasley

Gary Willis

Michael Manring

Jeff Berlin

Stu Hamm

Billy Sheehan

Brian Bromberg

Joie Calio

There are obviously many more auto's that I will like to get (McCartney, John Paul Jones, Geddy Lee, Bakithi Kumalo, Richard Bona, Nathan Watts, Bob Babbitt. If I could prove it was real than Jamerson would be the holy grail).

Lets see what you've got...

Only famous bassist's autograph I have is Jeff Berlin's, on an official Berklee College of Music Master Class announcement from 1980, when Jeff was giving a lecture/demonstration in Recital Room 1A.

I don't know if its bootleg or not (I've had it forever) but it was the only LP I could find in my collection that had Levin's picture on the cover.

The only bass autograph I got is from Steve Harris, although I found it at a used CD store so I can't say it's authentic. It appears to be signed by their lineup of the early 90s.

Was it sold/advertised as signed (maybe signed in a promotion) or did you just notice it was signed. Did the store have any background info?

The CD was in a special area with other used cds that were supposedly scratched (it worked fine). I noticed it was signed and I guess since there's no easy way of authenticating the signatures, they either didn't know what to do with it or just didn't notice the signatures. I believe it was around four dollars.

Stanley is one that I have yet to get (I still have a vinyl copy of School Days just waiting for his autograph).

Ron Carter is VERY cool... I saw Ray Brown twice in small clubs and never asked for his autograph (damn).

Victor Wooten, Steve Bailey, Richard Bona (on the neck), Kevin Eubanks, Les Claypool (really faint).

This picture is a little dated; Mike Stern is also on there now.

Well, I hardly ever ask people to sign stuff, but since it was my birthday party............

Dave LaRue.

Steve Lukather (hey, he played bass on "Beat It", so there).

Sterling Ball.

I have a Tony Levin signed photo somewhere but no scan of it.

Ah well.
