+1 Petere Cetera, who outside of Paul McCartney ( and I'm being polite ) is the most talented singer of the bunch and was an incredibly creative bass player.

Don't forget
Jack Bruce
Larry Graham

Brian Wilson to a lesser extent as a bass player
and Jermaine Jackson...

ELEVEN posts, including one that say "Yep, that's all of them" (sorry, Jimmy) before JACK BRUCE is listed? The only one on the lists that actually SINGS like a monster while playing independent lines like a monster?!

McCartney, Cetera, and Danko 's a great singer, but their bass playing while actually singing, goes on remote control and doesn't have quite the same bounce or drive. Listening to live recordings, it seems like Jack has two separate brains. One is connected to his voice, and another is connected to his bass. Singing expressively while simultaneously playing in his improvisational style is awesome...

John
