Who is this guy?! Sounds like Flea before there was a Flea..

That's a neat clip! There's nothing like youthful energy and monster chops!

He subs for Will Lee on letterman sometimes and plays a beat up ol' Jazz Bass.

If you turn it on some night and Will isn't there, it's probably him.

He is a monstrous player. Obviously, if he recorded with the BB.

Does he play on the Heavy Metal BeBop version with Terry Bozzio? That whole set is killer.

IRC, yes.

This link is sick...the Breckers' angular-linear Funk lines kill.
Jason, at times, sounds like Jaco/Alphonso rolled into one. Jason is also an incredible singer.

Yeah, yeah I get it..You jazzers think Flea sucks. I tend to like a little variety in my world. =)
I wasnt saying Flea was the be all end all. Just that it sounded like he got some of his style from Neil Jason.

I was pretty sure that Will Lee played on the studio version, and then I read the Neil Jason interview, and yes, I am correct. Both are very good NYC bass player/session cats.

No Flea is cool, just saying there are so many players that bring more to the table, as Flea is quick to admit.
Neil Jason is one of those players we have all heard but may not have any idea, he's done so much studio work thru the years:jingles, soundtrack and regular recording.

Jason is also responsible for the cool chorused bass work on Cyndi Lauper's first album. If anybody is looking for a good deal on great Brecker Brother albums, check this out: Amazon.com: Original Album Classics: Brecker Brothers: Music

That 'original-album-classics' line also has great deals on Mahavishnu, Stanley Clarke etc.

Jim, they just come in little slip cases, but otherwise they are the whole and remastered CDs. I had most of those albums already, but picked up a few I only had on vinyl, awesome deal, that's why I mentioned them.
