He's mostly show and no originality, but I'd be content to EVEN achieve his Level 1 in my lifetime. Although, I'm guessing that with that speed he probably went to the "crossroads" and made a deal? |

| | | | Oh! I know who your talking about. If your on youtube enough your bound to bump into him. He has a 6 string (ugly bass in my opion). Yeah he has alot of technique. He has done a couple of shows as far as I've seen on youtube. He's good. as far as being original? How could some one be original. If you two hand tap- its either Vic or Claypool. Fingerstyle or pick. Hi - mids or all bass on the EQ. Point is your going to always sound like someone. Original is the mixing of genre. I guess.
Unless this dude is backed by a record label. He won't be the next Vic Woo. |

| | Registered User | | Join Date: Sep 2005 Location: Washington DC | | | Gianni Gianni is not only a good slapper but he has a lot of various skills. Look at his different videos: you'll see blues on fretless, classical tunes, funk impro, sight reading session. This guy is a real session man.
Many people don't like fast slap, I think these are just demos of his skills for his business. Personally, I tend to think he is as talented as Victor, even if he is maybe less groovy.
I better know Victor than Gianni, but I think both are geniuses and we can learn from them.
