Who played on this Santana track?

I absolutely love the tone and feel of this recording. Note selection, groove, timing, tone, its all there.

Who can tell me the bassist and perhaps the bass and rig that was used?

That was Benny Rietveld. You're right, he's got a great feel and tone and that bass track really shines.

I read that he played a Tune bass on that track. Tune 'Maniac' I think...

He was a big Eden endorser when that song came out. He was on the back of several bass player magazines when that song came out

All the performance clips I saw of Santana at the time were Benny playing a Lakland 4-94 (mostly a Burgundy Mist), an Eden WT-800, and a pair of Eden 4x10.

Man, didn't even notice you were the OP! How ya been?

I noticed that rig being a long time Lakland & Eden fan too. Especially because I had a Burgundy Mist Classic too.
