Help me please with some names again guys.
I need bassplayers/artists who played with 'em.
4 strings only, only smooth jazz.
Something like David Sanborn with Marcus Miller on bass or Grover Washington Jr and his record "Winelight".

Others from that time frame (mid/late '70s)-
Marcus Miller (Fender Jazz), Will Lee (Fender Jazz & P), Jim Kurzdorfer (MM Stingray) played on the early Spyro Gyra albums...Lee dominated the 2nd, 3rd, & 4th albums...then Miller started popping up (no pun intended).

Gary King (Guild Starfire prototype) with Bob James, Tom Scott (New York Connection), & George Benson (Good King Bad)...King was also on Grover's Mister Magic album.

Max Bennett (Fender P) with Tom Scott & The L.A. Express.

Neil Jason (Fender Jazz) with Bob James.

Charles Meeks (MM Stingray) with Chuck Magione (Feels So Good, etc)

Exar's business is on hold for now. I will still help previous customers.

Off the top of my head I would guess someone has a four string bass with no opportunity to get a fiver and saying he can't play this type of music without a five string bass.. But aha! here is a list of people who are playing in this genre exclusively on a four string bass.
