So I got to see STP last night.......

I got to see Stone Temple Pilots last night in Pittsburgh, and they were spot on! I must say, Robert DeLeo had one of the BEST bass tones I've ever heard at a live show. The mix was really bass heavy, yet balanced, so you could hear almost every note he played. I recommend seeing them if they come to a town near you.

I hope there wasn't any 'mishap' with the vocals in light of the recent controversy:

Scott Weiland accused of using backing tracks

After the 1st song he addressed that rumor and shot it down. Weiland was spot on last night and did a lot of improvising. There is no doubt in my mind that the vocals were all live without overdubs/backing tracks.

btw, some of those jokers on ultimate guitar are braindead morons. it's obvious to anyone with half a brain that scott was singing live. first off, when he hits the platform there's a big clunk. second, his volume is a little off at first and he's a bit out of tune. anyone know any singers who uses tracks and records them out of tune or with inconsistent levels? third, part of that chorus is supposed to be sung through a megaphone and it's obviously not sung through a megaphone when he falls.

so it's a lot of hoo ha about nothing.

Yeah I saw the videos and Scott was definitely still singing, theres pictures of him down under the stage also showing him singing. Anyways, I've seen STP twice and they do put on a great live show with alot of energy and Robert is an amazing bassist. The type of lines he infuses into a rock band are just sensational. If I'm remembering right he used to use the Sansamp bddi and get some pretty sweet sounds out of it.

But I second the OP thoughts, go see them if they're near you!

Plush was one of the basslines that lit my fire to start playing. Very well-crafted to the song.

I love to play that song. I stopped playing for a bit and when I came back it was the first song I learned. Its one of my favorites

True story, Robert and Dean grew up in my town. They used to do things kids aren't supposed to do in the woods behind my house. I am sure both of them have forgotten about the numerous "gifts" they left on my lawn.

Amazing how time flies...

I saw them last October and agree it was an awesome show. The set list that night was fantastic and seemed to favor mostly the first three albums.

Totally agree. I watched the vid. Nothing to see there. Someone trying to create a bit of controversy over nothing.
