I was just wondering, there's probably guys here who've been playing all their lives.

I just thought I'd ask, who's been playing for the longest time?

I've only been playing for about 5 years.

Been playing an instrument since 1957 when I picked up my Dad's baritone horn. Got a guitar in '63, switched to bass in '66. Been playing ever since.

I know what this is...this is the thread where some kid gets us to admit we're old so he can goof on us. Forget that!

Since I was 10 continuously. (1985)

That would be almost 23 years

Me......the longest, not a chance.

I knew a much older gentleman in my youth (mid 80's),he had told me 50 yrs (never put in down in that time)
of course that was before the advent of the precision bass, when he started.

I started in 1968 at the age of 21, so I'm not the eldest elder statesman. Amazingly, I've never been playing better than I do these days.

1967, after playing guitar for a few years (Didn't everyone then?). Played continuously, did road trips for at least 10 years, then on and off, recently started playing steadily again.

Like Chroma - never played better - I am surprised at the compliments. I guess I learned something over the years. Hmmm. I certainly play simpler than in the 70's!
