I'm not the winner here, but I did an audition the other day. Three tunes, boom boom boom, I walked in and smoked 'em. "That was some seriously funky playing" the drummer says, and was asked how long I had been playing bass. I had to count, and I scared myself. 37 years! The woman singer looks at me and says "Wowww, I'm 37!"

I think I scared her too.

Started on electric in '67 at age 11. Played DB for a couple of years before that, but dropped it in 8th grade - my bad!

Off and on since 1970. I remember playing bass (I picked up guitar three years earlier) at a high school talent show. We played CCR's "Green River" and a few other tunes from that era.

Between then and now I've gigged part time on bass, keyboards, and guitar in all kinds of formats. I started gigging regularly on bass again five years ago in a blues/rock trio format and haven't looked back since.

Only two years, my first instrument though was french horn, but oddly enough that wasn't very popular with the ladies so I switched.
