Solomon Burke "Make Do With What You Got"

First off, just want to acknowledge the passing of a fantastic R&B, soul, and gospel, singer and songwriter who's genius helped alter and propel music over the last 50 years. For you young guys he may best be known for writing "Everybody needs somebody to love"

A player named Tommy Sims played bass on the "Make Do" recording, and, there is a song called "Faded Footsteps" with an incredible groove and tone to match.

Anybody here familar with Mr. Sims or this recording?
Am curious as to the bass used as well as any other pertinent information.
Thanks

edit: Meant to say that I did research Tommy Sims and his career as a writer, producer, and player but very little is mentioned regarding his involvement with this record

Tommy Sims!!!

I've been the biggest Tommy fan since 1988 when I was 11 years old!!! I could talk about him for about 3-6 hours...

I'm pretty sure he plays a '76 Jazz most of the time! You can see it in Cheryl Crow's new video "Summer Day" painted all hippie style since the 90's! When I see him live (lately) he's usually playing something else. He also has a '62 jazz, and he seems to have pretty basic recording techniques. I highly recommend his solo album from 2000. Simple, yet filthy grooves and lines! PM me if you want an extended list of recommended recordings from the last 20 years... He's also an accomplished producer and songwriter!

Just found the article!
