I cant even stand listening to the original now. In fact, I barely can stand listening to AJFA at all! It's a crying shame 'cause the songs are so good!
Remix it with more Jason in it already, Metallica!!! |

Yeh, I find the overall mix on AJFA terrible Hetfield and Ulrich were tards for that... Harvester Of Sorrow would kick so much ass >.<
I do think Jason was a great stand-in for Cliff, from a musical point of view..

hammet and burton knew it was pointless even being there so they didnt bother.

I remember the first time I heard it, I was listening on headphones and got a headache. That album, and some older Pantera stuff always sounded awful in car stereos (before the days of amps and subs). Whenever there was palm muting, it would make this awful woofy, humming sound.
I also remember the first time I listened to Voivod's self-titled album (the one with Newsted) and thought, "So this is what Jason sounds like on cd"
Anybody who's ever read/seen an interview or met Jason Newsted knows that he'd be the greatest guy to ever have in your band. The rest of Metallica made a huge mistake losing him. |

and tbh, thjey could have gotten a much better bassist to replace him. i cannot stand trujillo, quit wearing your bass so low that you have to crouch all the time to play anything besides roots |

Agreed. He's a talented fellow but how he sets his strap and bass so low is just inefficient. Watch the live Orion video with him. When he goes to play the first distorted riff, the clean intersection or the solo he has to prop his bass up on his knee to play it. Thats just stupid. Set the strap properly so you can play your bass comfortably anywhere on the fretboard.
