Somewhat silly Geddy Lee/Rush Question

Sign in to disble this ad
Does anybody know what the laundry machines are all about behind Geddy Lee in some of Rush's recent performances (ie R30, etc). At first I thought it was just some goofy backdrop but then I noticed that the PA Microphones were set up onto the laundry machines. Are those his amps disguised as laundry machines??

I only ask because... I think it will make me a better bassist

Doesn't one of their DVD's have rotary chickens as backdrops?

Geddy goes direct in to the PA these days and doesn't use amps anymore. Since his corner of the stage was then completely empty, the set up laundry machines as a joke....as well as setting up mics for an extra bit of humor.

this is correct. When I saw them play in April, he had rotating chickens in multiple rotisseries set up behind him. It was funny because a "chef" or two wandered on stage every so often to baste the chickens.

I heard the laundry machines used to also be used to store t-shirts that they threw out to the crowd. I was kind of hoping they would throw out some chicken to me...
