Song choices for performance.

I need to perform three songs with a band in roughly a month. One "blues in the swing style" which I assume just means walking blues. "Modal in the swing style" is the criteria for the next song, so I guess same as the last but a modal tune instead. The third song is my choice, rock/pop/whatever. I have to play the melody of the tune as well, on two of these numbers. I also have to play a "solo" on two of them.

The band certainly will have a drummer, guitarist and lead singer (who will be female). I know these musicians; they're great. It is also most likely possible for me to round up a pianist/organist, or some horn players (sax for sure), backup vocalists, etc. for one or more of these tunes.

I was thinking of doing the Blues Brothers' She Caught The Katy for the blues tune. Fairly straight forward bass, with some awesome funky licks in there. Shouldn't be tough to figure out.

Contenders for the "my choice" piece have been Funk #49 by the James Gang, I Want You by the Beatles, Vicarious by Tool, Pinball Wizard by The Who, Ramble On by Zeppelin, among others. I think I've settled on Shelter by Bedouin Soundlash.

I have no idea what I'm going to do for the modal tune. Probably a fairly standard jazz piece.

If you guys could give me some input on my choices or other suggestions that would be great. Thanks.
