Man, he has the vintage sound nailed. It just sits perfectly in the mix.

I think it was Joshua Zarbo who played bass then. I remember he used to play a Gibson EB bass but can't remember if it was an 0 or a 3.

In all honesty, rob is one of my favorite players right now. The new record, transference, is unbelievable. Rob played on the whole thing I believe. The bass parts on ga ga ga ga ga ad transference are brilliant.

Yeah Tim, I did the same starting with Ga Ga. Any idea what pedals he's using or what year that P is?

Here's another vid where you can see his board http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fYWlg9iHHlY ...he's using an Aguilar DB900 through a B15 in the vid v. the VR/810 in the other...sounds great.

I fixed the link. That overdrive sounds great on Got Nuffin.

Can anyone figure out what's on his board. I see a Boss TU2 and a Boss RE-20. Can anyone identify any of the others?

I've been a huge fan of Spoon since the 90s but know nothing about gear used.

Zarbo played until 2005. For the video you are talking about, he was using a 69 Eb3

I tried to start a thread about his work with the Get Up Kids, but didn't get a single response. His work on Something To Write Home About was very influential on my bass approach.

I saw The Get Up Kids prob. 5 or 6 times growing up on random tours, but never got into it. I was prob. too young. I should go back and listen again.

Spoon on the other hand, I haven't listed too in a couple months...I couldn't stop when I was haha.
