Seems that The Squier brand is making in-roads this year with their new products. I mean for $200 ( I bought one a few years back) with either a Bass or a Guitar you are in business throw in a $100 Squier amp and you are all set............................. |

I mean, why would Fender name their budget line after a bassist known for playing Rics? And why would they spell it differently?
Wait, why am I trying to respond to a question that was so obviously meant as a joke?

My skepticism simply comes from 25 years in the advertising biz, where we sometimes play fast and loose with history. For instance, did you know that V.C.'s boyhood nickname was "Villy?" |

Also that Fender bought the company around the time Fender was acquired by CBS, a purchase headed up by Don Randall, who also negotiated the deal to sell Fender to CBS. See Forrest White's book "Fender- The Inside Story". Also, the 1969 (or '70, I don't recall which) listed CBS Musical Instruments' companies, includiing Rogers drums, Rhodes keyboards, Gulbransnen organs, V C Squier strings, Leslie, Steinway pianos, Gemeinhart flutes, and Lyon & Healy harps (the real ones, not those annoying things people bring to blues jams).

But does that tell you something about Wiki or Fender...?

Haven't you been paying attention?
Just to make sure, here's a link to the story AGAIN (and yes, it's true) http://www.squierguitars.com/news/in...lay_article=99
