I love listening to Status Quo's bassists Alan Lancaster and Rhino Edwards. Nice driving, boogie shuffle bassists. |

In defense of the Rhino who I haven't seen playing out of his Quo mode, he does what the music ask for and does that well IMHO. Who knows (who cares!) maybe he can play like Jaco too? |

Pretty much as cool as Kiss's intro.

Lancaster was the perfect bassist for them live, but in the studio, Rossi has said he
re-did some of the bass parts on albums as L's timing was right out.
Rhino has now been there since (what?) 1986 and is still known as the new guy.
He plays a nice solid bass part, but has the huge disadvantage of not being part of
the "original" line-up - something that wasn't ever really applied in the same way to
Jeff Rich, Pete Kirschner, Matt Lettley, Andy Bown.
Rhino seems like a top bloke and he fits in perfectly.
As long as he doesn't decide to move off to Australia and refuse to promote
new records, he'll be fine.

Pretty much as cool as Kiss's intro. | I had the good fortune to see a lot of bands at the Apollo in the 80s and I was at the last gig there in '86 (If I remember correctly - it was Uriah Heap)! They tore it down before it fell down and there is now a multiplex cinema in it's place today !
It was a great venue - even if the stage was 15ft high, which meant you needed to be at least at row 10 to see the whole stage! It's funny whenever I smell dope these days it transports me back to the Apollo and entering through the doors of the stalls! Ah, happy times indeed!
