| I'd never even heard of Stephen Bruner or Thundercat until this morning, reading the daily free paper on the subway, I come across a review of The Golden Age Of Apocalypse, and from the way they described it, wow, I might actually like this guy!
"A natural bassist, Bruner ably switches between syncopated Prefuse 73-style laptop funk, David Axelrod-like orchestral overtures, and the plump, talking basslines of Weather-Report-era Jaco Pastorius to create a third-eye-seeking set of thickly arranged, jazz-fusion-inspired instrumental hip hop...Bruner's love of the stone low-end groove always leads to one."
I mean, gosh, with that many hyphens it must be good!
