Ugh...not helping. Also I miss that orange, such a cool amp.

I sold it to a guy on TB... he was up for selling.it a few months back...

you can also split the output so one out is your gained up dirty tone and one is totally clean if you have a stereo power amp.

This might sound crazy but I use the Regular Light Gauge Chromes tuned to Drop C. That's a .100 E. Works great on my 33 1/2" scale Ric.

Oh, I'm aware of the split trick on the JGR yet another reason I want it.

I need to start making more $ so I can get all the cool stuff I've had to sell and pass on over the years.

Whelp my Pitchblack bit the dust tonight, has signal going in but no signal coming out. Tried everything different patch cables in and out, different outlet on the power supply and still nothing. So I used it as an excuse to finally order my pitchblack + so I can eliminate my a/b switch as well and open up another 9v out on my power supply

Also I'm thinking of picking up one of the ART tube MP series Pre's and running in the FX loop of my dunwich preamp DI. I know that the actual tube doesnt do much but I'm hoping that slamming it with some dirt would get atleast a little bit of the overdriven 12ax7 tone and warm things up slightly, like a single 12ax7 tube in an amp's input stage / preamp. I've listened to some demo's and the MP Project sounded pretty damn good with bass DI, so i might take the jump and try it out. Thoughts? p.s. the dunwich preamp / di also runs to a poweramp not just the FOH.

That's pretty loose! I was using a custom set of DR Lo-Riders with a .125 for C standard. I actually just raised it to C# standard and it feels pretty nice.

It Lives! The issue was a single super tiny trace that looked fine, but apparently wasn't. I jumpered it, and voila, Electric Wizard guitar tone in a box. It took a good couple hours with a audio probe to find the damn problem though. What a pain.

I can get a pretty good approximation of the Electric Wizard tone now. My Les Paul (would be perfect if it were an SG, tone rolled off pretty far, bridge pickup) with Dimarzio Super Distortion(B)/PAF Pro(N) pickups >> this FZ-2 clone (Vol:8, Treb:6, Bass:8, Gain:9) >> the Laney AOR (Liz and Jus use/used an AOR instead of/with the Sound City often. EQ Boost knobs pulled, at noon. Gain dimed on low channel, which is a little dirty) >> reinforced and batted 4x12 (started life as a Peavey Windsor cab) with 2x greenback clones + 2x Vintage30's.

I haven't been able to crank it yet (duplex), but I can't wait!

I found Chromes just a bit loose in C standard. I switched to Rotosound 77s and I love 'em.

Ron's post has got me thinking, what gear have you given up that you are now regretting? Anything at all.

I guess for me it would be that Warwick. I'm sure I would have been able to find electronics that I would have liked with it, eventually. Or, just put in all passive stuff... I just didn't have the funds to experiment at that time. She got a nice sanding and a restain before I put her back into the world. She was prized while I had her. Hope she is making another player happy.

I sold a Crate 4x12 w/ greenbacks to fund my bass rig. Kind of wish I still had that. That's about all I regret getting rid of. It's the stuff that was stolen that haunts me. I had some awesome gear that I didn't really appreciate when I had it. The fact that a good 'friend' of mine stole it and disappeared off the face of the planet doesn't help either. In one fell swoop I lost a vintage fender 2x12, a Sunn Sentura II from 1968, an entire Tama 5-piece drum set w/ cymbals, a vintage DOD flanger (big-ass orange box that ran on 110VAC), a vintage Ross Phase/Distortion (again, big-ass box and 110VAC), EHX Worm, Black Russian Big Muff and a couple of other cheaper pedals. It was almost 10 years ago and I'm still pissed.

Definitely regret selling the Orange, now that I've gone through a bunch of other stuff I really wish I had a 200 watt tube amp that could double as a sweet guitar amp. Everything I look at, I just wish was that orange. However selling it got me my RD Artist and an SVT-II which was a cool amp (also gone now). Other amps I regret selling are a GK800RB, and an AMP 420.

Bass wise, I had a pretty sweet Kramer Aluminum neck that just didn't mesh with bongripper tuning, and was heavy as hell, but still a cool bass, and a 81' G&L L-1000 that sounded great, but it didn't sound nearly as good as my 78' P-bass which is why it was sold so I could get the P-bass.

Effects...too damn many have gone through my hands. I've actually been re-buying some that I sold in haste and missed. Most noteably was my Moog Murf which I recently picked up a Midi Murf to replace. I also miss having a low pass filter, I tried the IE xerograph and wasn't that thrilled so I'l lprobably pick up another Moog LPF...seeing a theme here?

Trying to help my guitar player figure out a new amp now, as a matter of fact. He's got bad GAS for an Orange TV200. Never had the pleasure of the old 800RBs, but I certainly have lusted for them. They never come up local...

Plus, I have Ampegfuzz's problem of being broke.
