Apparently they run in the same Chicago circle as the Atlas Moth and Jeremy's band Encrust. | I saw Jar'd Loose open for The Atlas Moth last year great live band. The singer has some of the greatest stage banter I've heard in a long time. Incidentally I just saw The Atlas Moth open for Neurosis last night. Amazing show.
Encrust played that show too but oddly they sounded way better when I saw them open for Nachtmystium recently. The mix was a bit off when I saw em the first time there wasn't enough separation between the bass and guitars so it was hard to make out some of the subtleties of the riffs. That being said they ruled the last time I saw em definitely big fan of the melodic bass interlude.

Anyone know of a 1 space preamp (tube or SS) that's under $200 pref under $150?
I only got my VT pedal right now, but the peavey 120/120 merits a rack buddy once I acquire it.
Anyone use the peavey 120 or 120/120 poweramp? Hows the tone and headroom? I have the 60/60 right now, but it's quite possibly the dumbest amp ever designed and though it sounds good, I need to rid myself of it.

You'll be looking used and will be limited to peavey and yamaha and the like for a rackmount that cheap. My alpha bass was 100.

Did a quick search and they can be had online for as low as $150 used. I think it's a great preamp, it sounds really nice and takes pedals well. Onboard optical compressor and sonic maximizer. Check the link. http://www.google.com/search?q=useb+...w=1280&bih=709 |

| | Registered User | | Join Date: Mar 2012 Location: Austin TX, Denton TX | | | Thanks for the help, I'll be looking into those and making an ad on craigslist to search. Need to sell off some crap to get a pre, so I'll just have that 120/120 on the back burner, I am a little nervous buying it, because if the tubes die or have no life that's like $200... but I'm getting it for $150 and that's a bargain I suppose on 240 tube watts.
My 100 watts of Windsor is not as loud as I assumed through a 4x12 stack, but the tone is great, I'll have to see how it does through the 1x15 I fixed up for it. As for great tone, it's easy... 8/10 on the pre, max the bass, max the mids, zero treble, 8/10 on master, zero resonance and 5/10 on presence.
Perfect natural OD tone, not "bassy" by any means a great mild to medium crunchy tone, today I'll try using the El oso, and mole for going heavier and adding a little flub if I'm just using that amp. So far though a great budget marshally amp. |

Thinking of trying the 2 drive rat tail in place of my fulltone bass drive. |
