Oh...and the proposed Stoner/Doom band a buddy asked me to help him start seems to be on. We're getting together tonight or tomorrow to work on riffs and apparently he said he wants lots of collaboration, as much participation in writing, singing and planning as I want to put in. His exact words were something along the lines of "consider me the guy answering YOUR want ad, I want to help you start a band". So that's cool, hopefully it pans out. | I hope this pans out as well.

And then you have string gauges to worry about as well. I've been down this road many times if you got any questions I can try n help ya out. | Oh, you don't have to worry about me. I know all about scale lengths, low tunings, and string gauges. I've had basses tuned down an octave... and lower!
The lowest I've had my guitars tuned is Drop A, but I'm very familiar with string gauges and tunings. I've spent a lot of times on Circle K using the tension guide/calculator. I used to e-mail Skip rather frequently.
I think I'm going to go with the Warmoth neck, which I just realized is 28 5/8" scale.
Originally I was thinking of doing this with a tele, but I think a Les Paul would be tempting as well. I'd like to have an LP tuned low for some nice sludge.

| | acoustic, peavey, sunn...STACHE | | Join Date: Sep 2010 Location: Milwaukee, WI | | My EHX Mole is in, I A/B'd it with my ODB-3 and the results are in...The mole does what it's designed to do better than the ODB-3 does, surprising right? And the mole is small enough that I was able to squeeze my volume pedal on my board. The modded ODB-3 is good but I just dont have a use for it, I get my grind from my preamp. I needed more bass and the mole has metric shvt tons of it. If you have an ODB-3, the Monte Allum mod is well worth the $30, I know someone was pondering it. Tomorrow will be the final test between the ODB-3 and the Mole, with my big rig and in the band's mix, but I'm speculating the mole will again come out on top.
Pics
My board will be staying like this for awhile, I only need one more thing to complete my dual purpose guitar/bass DOOM board. An a/b/c/d/y switch with a DI, so I can run a wall of amps off my single board.

Reckon I'll mount the actual DOD250 I have on my board for now, can't seem to find a better overdrive for what we play that also plays nice with the Blowtorch.
