Anyway, f this winter for forcing us to cancel last weekend. Stupid snow.
We're playing with a few awesome bands Friday (Transient, Prefect and Faces of Bayon). And then at the end of the month it's the big show with Gozu and Lord Fowl (and Orange Diesel and Second Grave).
If no one has heard Second Grave, here: https://www.facebook.com/secondgraveband?ref=ts&fref=ts
Female fronted doom metal. Good stuff.

The lowest I've had my guitars tuned is Drop A, but I'm very familiar with string gauges and tunings. I've spent a lot of times on Circle K using the tension guide/calculator. I used to e-mail Skip rather frequently.
I think I'm going to go with the Warmoth neck, which I just realized is 28 5/8" scale.
Originally I was thinking of doing this with a tele, but I think a Les Paul would be tempting as well. I'd like to have an LP tuned low for some nice sludge. | Cool man! I've been down the same road so just putting it out there if ya needed any help. I've been pondering a baritone tele but they just don't look right on me, and I'm so used to the Bari Jag (which is in Drop G w/ .14-.68's) now that I'm just keeping an eye out for another one of those as a back up. Just can't win but I'd probably go with the 200$ al-2000 627 flatblack and deal with the pickup position.

Btw, is that like your clean tone? Or you had something on? |

Btw, is that like your clean tone? Or you had something on? | Thanks! Hate Ashbury was from the saturday set so I was using an Ashdown ABM500 with an Ampeg 810. Honestly if it wasn't for the super awesome monitoring system they had there I could not hear the amp at all (quiet 500 watts IMO).
The "clean" tone is actually the Neck pickup with the volume rolled down some on my RD Artist through my Rat. I never turn off my gain pedals so that is as clean as I get in Bongripper anymore. I just use the different pickups and volume controls to change the tone. (At roadburn I used a bass modded big box rat, now I'm using a fuzzrocious demon king, with even better results).
I was really proud of how that turned out, in tone and performance. That is one of the parts we "jam" on so all the fills and such were just played on the spot...luckily they sounded good/in key haha. |

We plan a feb 1st show. Turns out his wife is due on that day now... we might be a two piece for our next show. Kinda cool, kinda not.
