The emperors visually were very menacing and frankly looked great overall. But they sucked to move, were quiet, and sounded like nothing, I know people like them, but sonically I'm very underwhelmed by their bass cabs. |

I had picked up the 610 so I didn't need to drag one of my emperors back and forth between practice spaces and shows for cstvt. Then after a couple years Bongripper and cstvt finally ended up sharing a practice space. One practice I played through my 6x10 instead of the 4x15/4x12 emperor rig. The single 610 put out more volume and bass than the emperors without breaking a sweat.
I sold the emperors a week later, picked up a berg 215 to go with the 610 and haven't wanted a cab since. |

I'm thinking of ditching my 410 he and getting a 212 or 412. Mix up the mini rig. I just want a different small cab. Might need to wander over to berg's site. |

This was catching my eye. Don't hear much about ashdown. Nate Mendel from the foo fighters is using them. Look classy. Like the size/shape.

The man runs a hell of a stack. | He runs two of those stacks, too.
The 4x15 cab in particular is really cool. |

We refer to the "post-post-hardcore-tech-prog-deathcore-core" kids as "teabaggers" or "morse code metal".

Seems like most "Doom" bands around here are going for the death doom type sound. We are like the only "Stoner" band that I know of. It's going to be kinda weird to play this show with these two "heavier" bands and we are more on the rock side of things.
For the guys that consider yourselves "Stoner Rock", what kinds of bands to you end up on the bill with? We are a little too heavey to fit in with the indie rock group that seems to flourish here and a little too rock n' roll to fit with the modern metal bands that are starting up...

My guitarist coming from CO, told me that the music here in Milwaukee "straight up sucks, there are no good bands here", and I was like "yup."
Theres a pretty good post hardcore DIY scene here in Milwaukee, and I have friends in that scene and one of my last bands used played it, so VEGA will play basements. Gonna show those emos whats up. |

I feel very much like the minority.
Really, though, stoner rock and doom death can go fine on the same bill, I think. Fans of both genres tend to like slow, heavy, and loud. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
