Stuff like that always looks cool to me but I've never seen a "pro" drummer use one. Maybe they think it's cheating.

I sure as hell don't use a tuning fork. Give me consistent digital tuners.

This is why I don't venture too far from here. Do all these pricks sit around listening to Jaco all day? Boring.

We have a Yamaha Power mixer. I think it does 100 Watts a channel. We have two 15" monitors hooked up on either side of drummer, kinda angled. It's not mega loud, but you know we have lyrics to our songs. You just might not be able to make them out.

Less than 4 weeks til show and still no confirmation on what bands...

I booked a show for Billows and Asthma Castle at my favorite little Mexican bar and the owner added a band that he said would fit right in.

Um. They're metal. That's about it. I guess it don't make no difference to club owners but I was hoping for a stoner/doom centric show.

Is Asthma Castle too metal for Stoner/Doom? I know we don't fit all of the core tenants but have I been deluding myself this whole time?

I have. It is okay, but not really that accurate. I'd recommend a drum dial or similar if you can't tune by ear.

Hot damn dude, fvcking Gride!! None of the top couple rows excites me except Sleep and Bolt Thrower, but i'd go for Converge, Rotten sound, Pig Destroyer, Gride and a few others on the list. I may have to go this year its only a 90 minute drive.

It sucks. I think Converge is playing the hardcore stage that's a mile away.

I think they're playing Thursday which is super lame because I don't have a ticket for it. I may try and see if I can get in.

Morning everybody. There's one of the torque drum tuners at the practice space. Never used it when I was playing drums, just did it by ear.

FoF - Maybe playing with a straight up metal band will bring some potential fans that wouldn't otherwise know about your band. You never know...

I'm listening to Sonic Titan - Even Higher. Downloaded for free from Bandcamp. I wasn't expecting much, but holy balls it's pretty awesome. Retro/Psych done right (and they're not from Scandinavia). Great songwriting, production and musicianship. Highly recommended.

EDIT: Sounds like the drums are programmed, sneaky bastards. I still really like it.

Man that list is all fvcked up, I'd have to run back and forth between stages to see the bands I want to see. It seems like they are very loosely grouped together but not correctly IMO. But it does seem that you got a pretty good spot on the primo day on the primo stage, hell yeah bro!

Once again, the rest of TB is oblivious to grindcore.
I'd post a link to my noisegrind band live - but the last time I did that I got a warning for the, uh, vulgar content...

I laugh so hard at the Christian threads when the solution to just about every problem is praying.

Our lead guitarist was there all 4 days at MSG. I don't mind Phish, they're just not exactly my cup o tea, I'm more of a classic Grateful Dead kinda guy. But he's promised to take me to a show to help me see what Phish is truly about, he said if you listen to their studio album's you'll probably end up hating them, it's all about the live shows and bootleg albums.

I don't need pro quality I just Wana take my kick drum apart and take what ever is inside out to hopefully get it a little louder. It's pretty thud/dead sounding and I have no clue how to tune drums.
