I think they're a lot like the dead in the sense that until your familiar with the studio stuff you can never fully appreciate the live versions. Their body of work is massive, and again, like the dead it can be very intimidating, but they do lots of cool stuff. The halloween cover albums are awesome, themed sets, they never working off setlists, and by totally winging it they make it an experience like no other for lots of people. They also devised some pretty cool exercised to work on their jamming...

So I just picked this monster up for a song. Just wondering what the impression on this amp was from the brotherhood of doom...

Just for kicks a family pic of amps.

It's big and loud. No direct experience but I'm have equal oppurtunity G.A.S. If it has transistors and can make balls rattle then I'll use it.

Tuning drums is tricky. Here's a great video that helped me out alot.

I even made one of those turntables out of a lazy susan.

Oxbass loved it. I trust that dude. I had GAS for one for a long time. But, with the amount of cabs I want to run at this time, I need 2 channels and 2 ohms.

Brought the Peavey 2-15" to the jam space. Going to set it under the guitar players Ampeg to bring it closer to ear level. We'll get it loaded with some drivers, later. For now, it's a cab stand. Thinking of bringing the Omni, but only after I get a driver for it. Might end up using it for PA stuff...

Alright random but my playing calluses have gotten to that point where most touch screens are getting hard to use, does anyone else have that problem?

I play micro heads and light basses, but not flats. I buy super lightweight powerful amps so I can turn them up really loud though. My MB800 is sitting on my 1x10 lately, as my home practice amp, but it brings the thunder when it's time to play with a band. I'm going to be running my new Dunwich preamp through a Crest Pro-Lite 2.0 power amp.

As for the lightweight bass stuff...hey, my shoulder is blown, what can you do? I still play my heavy basses, it just sucks for a few days after. No Mustang Sally to be heard in any case.

I'm to the point I'm sick of fighting my tone with my genz and might dump it for a GK MB or something. Ill take the same rig to the same bar and it never sounds the same twice. And for the most part not good. I love all the features, size, power and sounds alright at home. But come gig time I keep turning knobs. I had good luck the weekend with the 800rb but I was pressed for time so just took the 9.0 and regretted it.

I love my MB800. I had an 800RB before that and it's just a louder, lighter version of that same tone, with a little more low end. I still like my YBA-1 more than either one of them, but my go to backup for it has always been a GK.

I didn't have a strap at practice on Friday. But I found some twine. That kinda sucked. haha.
Hopefully this church thing lasts for a while. It was pretty sweet.
