When we try to write new songs, I usually bring some liquor to practice to loosen everyone up. I think it helps lessen your inhibitions and makes you more willing to try stuff out. |

However, I've been made aware that after 2-3 drinks or too much herb my playing can suffer, so i try to keep myself under control and wear earplugs, maybe have some coffee before a set. Actually, coffee & greens are one of my favorite combo's of all time.
| I think there`s something special about the way caffeine containing plants and marijuana go together so well. It was one of my favorite things to come home after work, brew up a nice cup of Earl Gray tea(add a asston of milk and sugar to it)and take a bong hit. It would chill me out but the caffeine would get me talkative and in a out going mood. That combo was definitely greater than the sum of it`s parts.
It`s nice that you dudes have a bedroom amp. I either rock a full stack(or try to on the lowest volume possible so I don`t bother anyone) or I use this tiny Vox headphone amp. You just plug it right into your bass then plug headphones in. It`s about the size of a pack of smokes. Actually it`s pretty handy now that I think about it.

We try and keep our drummer from smoking before practice and shows. It makes his drumming go all over the place, and not in a good way. We end up with a full (unexpected) stop in at least one song.

I don't usually play stoned at practice or shows, I miss changes. In a jamming or writing situation then it helps. I will have 2-3 tallboys at practice. Just enough to loosen up, and I figure it prepares me for having a few beers in me at a show. |

When I'm tweaking pedals I use my wife's 15 watt crate. The bass response is unfortunate. |

Anything 100% indica (body high), grape ape for example is awesome, I'm still clear headed and can remember what i play, but I feel like im having a out of body experience. Sativas are fun too though just more trippy. When I close my eyes explosions of color are very cool.
Weed is an add on to help get me to that cosmic nod.

But from the reaction that I am hearing, it is not as of I am out looking for this change either. I sm still running the original free app. I never switched over using the talk tap or whatever the hell it is.
In other news I am in portland today. I think I will go have something to eat and then see about hunting down some music stores. I can't remember the name of the place, but there was a place here that had a TON of cool effect pedals. Anybody have any suggestions? I don't remember if anyone lives here, or has been here from this thread. And of course the app didn't make mention of it either.

It rivals the volume of my 200watt Dunwich, I use mine for guitar and with the master dimed and the volume on 1.5 it shakes my house, in comparison the Dunwich does it on .75-1. Quote:

Weed is an add on to help get me to that cosmic nod. | I agree that indica's are the best to smoke while playing, I tend to prefer them in general as I much prefer the body high over a mental high. If i want ot get lost in my own head I'll drop a tab and take an 8 hour reality vacation.

Most psychoactive toxins affect the part of the brain associated with decision making. Once you get 'stoned', the critical areas of your brain relax, resulting in fewer inhibitions or self-censoring. Same principle applies when you wake up with someone you ordinarily would not after a night of partying.
Deep breathing, yoga, meditation etc. have proven to be just as effective without undesired side-effects. One side-effect being not able to be creative without the substance... |
