So worth it though, it was the first major session Ive had with Forza Horizon, and this game may even top my favorite racing game of all time, NFS Most Wanted.

Going from 240kph to 60 in about 2 seconds was quite unexpected the first time. i cant even imagine the forces on the drivers in F1 which go almost twice as fast. |

It's a good morning. I stayed up late drinking and smoking with a friend then actually got a lot of sleep and am hangover free. Win!
Got some beef stew in the crock pot and I'm dinking around on the internet while drinking coffee. Not bad. |

I'm working on rehousing a SF-300 circuit, which is a clone of a Boss Hyper Fuzz FZ-2. Anyway, this board is mostly surface mount components. While desoldering a pot I cracked off an SMD resistor. I replaced it with a regular resistor. I've checked the joint with a MM and the connection is solid.
Here's where it gets weird: I've got the whole circuit wired up and it works, however it's quieter than bypass, UNTIL I touch one leg of the resistor I replaced with my thumb and the other leg with my index finger of the same hand. The effect slowly gets louder and louder over the course of about 10-15 seconds until it's louder than bypass (how it should sound). If keep my fingers here the circuit works indefinitely. As soon as I release my fingers, the effect gets quieter and quieter over the course of 10-15 seconds until it's back to "really quiet".
What the hell? What electrical capacitance/resistance/inductance/grounding/whatever could my fingers be creating that causes this? Furthermore, any idea what the hell I can do to either A: Fix the damn thing B: Simulate whatever the hell my hand is doing electrically and implement it? | Quote: |

Is there any way to replicate the capacitive ground my body is acting as and implement it somehow? I've tried throwing a large cap across the resistor that exhibits the odd phenomenon to no avail. I'm just at a loss here. EDIT: Found this per wikipedia "The Human Body Model for capacitance, as defined by the Electrostatic Discharge Association (ESDA) is a 100pF capacitor in series with a 1.5kΩ resistor"
Thanks a lot for any help.

The V4 is about to take a dump we are afraid, and he is itching for new gear. He has one of those Fender Select $2,200 basses he is going to use for trade in towards whatever he gets at guitar center. I know they are going to kill him on trade in...

Personally I'll never sell my JMP, hunt one of those down.

They are a business, their goal is to make money(like all good businesses they should turn a profit),however in order for them to make money they have to low ball the hell out of you.
Your friend would be better off selling it here on TB or even craigslist. He might even find a dude willing to trade a amp for his bass.
